Some establishments go for big bold pictures, while others don’t use pictures at all. Either one is effective, but if you go the picture route, use only outstanding pictures.
Menu Printing – Pictures – Yes or No?
Go with a professional photographer who has experience with taking pictures of food, particularly of the dishes you serve. Every image should be vibrant and look mouthwatering. Bland colored foods don’t usually sell. If you do use photos, just go with a couple of your most popular menu items.
The pictures in your menu have to be exactly what you serve and you should avoid stock photos on your menu.
Another option to food pictures are images of your restaurant (or heritage photographs should you have them) or illustrations. There are several options in food photography on the selection when it comes to illustrations that are an even better option.
